
RECIPES Recipes from readers of WAVE Journey. Mixed Berry Crumble Serves 4 - 8 Incredibly quick, simple and delicious. You will need: PREHEAT OVEN TO: 350 F BERRY FILLING: This recipe is quick and simple and makes a great desert at any time of year. - 4 cups of berries (your choice but blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries work very well - frozen is great if they're out of season) - 1/4 cup of All-Purpose Flour - 1/2 cup of granulated sugar - 2 tablespoons dark rum, or brandy or Grand Marnier (optional) - 2 teaspoons lemon juice - Mix it all together in the dish you're going to bake it in. Berries don't need to be thawed first if you're using frozen. CRUMBLE TOPPING: - 1 cup of Rolled Oats - 1/2 cup All-Purpose flour - 1/2 cup of brown sugar (white is ok too) - 4 oz melted unsalted butter - 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon - 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds work great) *** if you don't like nuts add 1/2 cup more oats. - Mix all these ingredients together in a small bowl. - Sprinkle an even layer of the topping over the berries.
