Delicious Caramelized Bananas

Serves 4

A delicious, quick and easy dessert!  

You will need:

  • 4 bananas - peeled and sliced in half on an angle
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite liquor - Grand Marnier, Kahlua, Cointreau,
    dark rum, etc...
  • 4 scoops of your favorite ice cream - we suggest Haagen Daz
    Dulce de Leche


  1. In a large skillet melt 2 tablespoons butter.
  2. Add bananas and saute until browned on two sides, about 2
    minutes each side - don't over cook so they turn mushy.
  3. Remove bananas from skillet and set aside.
  4. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in skillet.
  5. Add sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and liquor.
  6. Stir ingredients until smooth and bubbling.
  7. Return banana to skillet and coat with the sauce.
  8. Plate bananas, top with scoop of ice cream and pour over
    remaining sauce.
  9. Serve immediately.

You can try different variations with ice cream flavors and liquor flavors -
some of our favorite combinations are:

Kahlua and coffee flavor ice cream, Grand Marnier and chocolate ice
cream, Creme de Cassis and vanilla ice cream, Dark Rum and Dulce de
Leche (caramel) ice cream. Let us know your favorite combinations!
