clinching the win of the WAVE Journey-hosted
satellite tournament to the PokerStars
Caribbean Adventure*.
Teija, a 25-year-old university student of
economics, is looking forward to escaping from
the freezing weather (currently minus 25
degrees Celsius) of her homeland to journey
next month to the Bahamas and the fabulous
Atlantis Resort.

WJ: How long have you been playing poker?
TH: My very first poker games took place a year and a half ago around
the kitchen table but I really started the studying and playing online
games more seriously about six months ago.
WJ: Do you play live games or just online?
TH: I play just online, I have never played live poker! I don't count the
family games here: first I didn't even remember the order of the hands
as I was learning the rules, and the games were about the pride, not
really the money. I hope I get a chance to practice playing live before
going to the Bahamas.
WJ: Do you prefer cash games or tournaments?
TH: Surprisingly enough, I haven't even tried cash games. I have played
12000 online tournaments so far and majority of them are Sit'n'Go' -
tournaments. I do have to switch to play more MTT-tournaments to get
practice for the PCA.
WJ: How often do you play?
TH: I usually play a few times per week, the more the better.
WJ: Have you enjoyed some other big wins?
TH: My biggest poker achievement is winning the PokerStars Women's
League Euro Special twice.
WJ: Do you have a favorite poker book?
TH: I prefer watching poker videos and reading forums, there is the
newest information of what's going on in poker. PokerStrategy.com is an
active poker community and especially the live coachings are really good.
WJ: Who is your Poker Hero?
TH: My partner: he is the one who brought me to the world of poker. I
still have a lot to learn from his analytic game style and incredibly good
nerves!

*The PCA is an annual PokerStars event that takes place January 7-16,
2011, at the world-famous Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in The
Bahamas. This year’s event is a true festival of poker with over 45 poker
tournaments spread over 10 days, with millions of dollars up for grabs.
The 2010 PCA saw the launch of the $1K Ladies Event, which attracted
91 entries and a prize pool of $88,270, and was won by Vanessa
Rousso.
