Writer's Guidelines

Writer's Guidelines for WAVEJourney.com -
Women's Adventures, Vacations & Experiences ~
Your Journey Starts Here!

WJ is looking for articles to feature on our website and in our monthly newsletter. More
specifically, we'd like first-hand travel experiences, travel recommendations, travel tips, and hotel
reviews.

In addition, we also print articles on, food, wine, health, golf courses, history, and culture. The
thing to remember here is that the focus of the article has to be of interest or benefit to women.

To get a sense of what WJ is after, sign-up for the free monthly newsletter (via sign-up box at
top right of home page: www.wavejourney.com), browse through some of the stories you'll find
at the Travellers' Tales link: www.wavejourney.com/travellerstales.html and the Travel Tips link:
www.wavejourney.com/traveltips.html.

At this time, WJ doesn't pay for articles. However, writers retain all rights to their work and
submissions from new writers are welcome -- the editors will work with you to get your article
ready for publication. Other benefits (FAM trip leads) are available to writers who have
contributed to our site - contact us for details.

Submission Requirements:

1. Articles can run from 150-3000 words.

2. You do not need to query.

3. If you wish to submit an article, copy it into the body of an email and also attach the article as
a word document). Send to: newsletter@wavejourney.com

4. Format article to be left-justified. Do not indent paragraphs.

5. Do not use hyperlinks in body of article - all links and contact info should be at the bottom.

6. Check your spelling, punctuation and grammar before submitting your article.

7. Format your email-article text in 12 point Times New Roman or Verdana.

8. Make sure you put the following title in the subject line of your email:
"Article for Publication: Your title."
Example: Article for Publication: South African Delicacies.

9. You are encouraged to submit up to twelve (12) photos with your article. Captions not
required.

10. Photos/images should be in JPEG form, sized no larger than 72 pixels per inch, with 3.5" as
the longest dimension.

11. Do not submit photos with your article - send in a separate email with your article title.
Example: Photos: South African Delicacies.
If you intend to submit photos, identify in your article where they should be placed.
Example: If I want my lion photo at the end of this paragraph I will write, "Place lion photo here".

12. Photo credits will be at the bottom of the article, so if someone other than you is responsible
for the photos, make note of this and give them credit. Also, make sure you have permission to
use the photographs that someone else took - it is your responsibility to ensure there are no
copyright infringements.

13. Suggest which areas of WAVEJourney.com you would like your articles to appear.
Example: Article about South African Delicacies could be placed in - destinations/South Africa, also
Traveller's Tales, also food & wine.
Article about Berlin's Top 10 Reasons To Visit could be placed in - destinations/Germany, also
Lodging/Germany, also Lodging/Luxury, also Restaurants/Germany, also Tour Companies, also
Travel Tips.
Example: Article about India's Spicey Side could be placed in - destinations/India, also Traveller's
Tales, also Recipes.

14. Make sure you include your bio info. We are happy to include your website and email address.
