We would rather be visiting Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, USA! Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble. There are over 300 geysers located within Yellowstone - this makes up two thirds of all the geysers on earth. It is possible to visit the park year-round, although the only vehicle access in winter 2008/09 is to Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. Old Faithful is a cone geyser that blows each day at fairly regular intervals. Although not the largest or tallest geyser in Yellowstone, it is typically predictable 90% of the time to within 10 minutes of an eruption, with an eruption occurring approximately every 91 minutes. View up to the moment activity on the webcam: http://www.nps.gov/archive/yell/oldfaithfulcam.htm Eruptions can last between 90 seconds and 5 minutes; expel 3,700 t0 8,400 gallons (14,000 to 32,000 liters) of boiling water; and reach heights of 106 to 184 feet (30-55 m). Mammoth Hot Springs is another spectacular area of the park to explore and view the limestone terraces. This area had greatly changed in the years between WJ's visits to the park. Even a few years can show a significant change in the terraces. Take a look at the live webcam here: http://www.nps.gov/archive/yell/tours/livecams/mammoth/mammothcam2.htm Bison laze and graze near hot springs. About 4,000 wild bison roam freely throughout Yellowstone. West Thumb Geyser Basin is another area within Yellowstone worth exploring. http://www.nps.gov/archive/yell/tours/westthumb/ Entrance fee: $25 per vehicle (private, 1-6 passengers), valid for 7 days. Camping within the park is possible and there are a few lodging choices that can be viewed at: http://www.travelyellowstone.com/ Plan your trip with the help of information found at Yellowstone's official website: http://www.nps.gov/yell/ Happy Travels!
