theatre has also won

Travel Alberta’s coveted
Alberta Pride award for
capturing the essence of
the Alberta experience
for the more than
40,000 annual tourists.
We’ll buy that. It was a
super day, combining
good food, a little
exercise, a country drive,
an enjoyable cultural
experience, friendly folks
and a history lesson.
And to top it off, we had
HydroSonic massages
booked back at the
Heartland Inn.

Cherie Thiessen is a member of the Travel Media Assoc. of Canada, the B.C. Travel Writers
Assoc. and the Federation of B.C. Writers. She’s been teaching travel writing at the
University of Victoria for over ten years, and has written extensively for television, radio,
newspapers and magazines. Originally a playwright and scriptwriter, she discovered travel
writing in her 50s when she was asked to teach it, and realized she’d first have to do it.
Specializing in soft adventure for the over 50s, Cherie writes about her mountain biking,
hiking, sailing, and VW camper adventures and loves nothing better than ferreting out
special places both near and far.
