Peggy's Cove, know as the Pearl of the Atlantic, is a "must" destination
when visiting Nova Scotia, Canada. It is a short drive from Halifax on the
scenic Lighthouse Route along the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
The Lighthouse sits high on granite rock surrounded by coloured roof tops,
fishing boats and the wide expanse of the Atlantic.
The rocks are slippery, the sea is churning and it's a crap shoot if you can
see further than your foot!
I suggest a quick, yet cold trek to the restaurant/store, buy some beautiful
postcards just before you dig into a hefty, delicious plate of fish and chips!
Note of interest for those Lighthouse seekers:
~ Schedule your trip if travelling during cruise season between their bus
tours. If travelling in the winter, you are good to go at any time in-between
storms!
Note of interest for those who are still hungry:
~ Bedford has a great Chickenburger place. Opened in 1940, it is said to be
the oldest drive-in restaurant in Canada. Go retro, eat real chicken and
listen to the jukebox!
