Introduction:
There we stood, surrounded by scenic and serene vistas as we soaked up
the BC wilderness. We were amidst mountains, trees, the sounds of
nature (including the gobble-gobble of a turkey call), beautifully-designed
log lodges, and what appeared to be traditional Thai architecture that had
miraculously been transported straight from the heart of Thailand. Finally
we had arrived at our much anticipated destination, Echo Valley Ranch and
Spa near Clinton, British Columbia, Canada.

Now, guest ranches are a favorite
of ours. After all, we've saddled-up
to a few of them in recent years.
These days we'll go most anywhere
to haul our (not so agile) bodies
into the saddle at the first
opportunity for a ride through the
wilderness or along the dusty trails
aboard a steady steed. So, when
we first learned of Echo Valley
Ranch and Spa, it quickly had us
jumping into our cowboy boots as
we just knew it was somewhere we
should visit... and soon.
Echo Valley is not your ordinary
dude ranch. It touts itself as "a
touch of Thailand right in the heart
of the wilderness west". But who
ever heard of a Thai-influenced
horse ranch and spa? Certainly we
hadn't. Could the mix of these two
completely different cultures really
meld together to create the
ultimate guest ranch experience?
Was it really possible to achieve perfect "East Meets West" balance?
Well, there was only one way to find out, and that would mean spending a
few days at Echo Valley. So Jill and I decided, well gee, if somebody has do
it, it may as well be us!
