Walking through the adjoining bar I looked back.
Nelson was still being kissed and nudged by the sea
lion. In a few minutes we were again in the dolphin’
s pen, watching four dolphins and their trainer
putting on a show. The trained dolphins were
showing their capabilities mesmerising both children
and adults with their quick leaps out of the water
and rapid movements. It was a joyful scene.

At a signal from the trainer they would shoot like a
bullet through the pen’s waters then leap to nudge
a visitor standing or sitting by the water then shoot
back to their trainer to get their piece of fish. They
would then leap up to kiss the trainer. This was
followed by many other acts, which would make us
look in awe or break out in laughter. What
impressed me the most were the dolphins gliding
through the water and then leaping at least 20 feet
into the air then summersaulting back into the water.

With the antics of the sea lions and dolphins still fresh in our minds our group sat down in the
aquarium’s restaurant to dine. Glancing to the side I saw that Nelson had re-joined us. I
looked at him smiling, “What happened? Did the sea lion capture your heart?” He grinned,
“Capture my heat! I think that I captured its heart. After you left. It refused to leave me - I
guess waiting for its trainer signal.”
He continued, “Wearied after this episode, I stopped at the bar for a drink. As soon as I
started to sip on my beer I felt a breath on my cheek. Looking up, I saw it was my sea lion
kissing me. I’m sure the trainer must have a hand in all of this!” He snickered.
Curious, I asked: “What were the kisses like?” Not pleasant! It felt like an unshaven
person rubbing my cheek. You should try it!” He advised as we dug into the delicious food.
