This past month Viv spent time taking a trip down memory lane in England with her mum, Viv, Sr. It has been 30 years since the Chapleo family made the big move across the pond to Canada, so it was definitely time to go back and visit family, friends and childhood haunts. A good time was had by all with loads of laughs, great eats and sightseeing - more to come on this trip in the near future.

If you're contemplating a trip to limey land, put Liverpool on your list of places to visit whilst there - not just because of the FAB 4, but also because Liverpool is the European Capital of Culture in 2008 and there will be festivities galore throughout the year. ~ www.liverpool08.com
Jill kept busy in Central Oregon attending Wine by the River in Bend, at the beginning of October. There were 60+ wineries represented during the two day event. Wine by the River took place the same weekend as Bend's Fall Festival, so twice as much was to be had around town. Bend is always a fun and beautiful place to visit at any time of the year, but fall is especially fabulous when the autumn colors are out in full force. www.winebytheriver.com www.bendfallfestival.com

Travel Safety Tips for Women ~ Staying Safe in Your Hotel Room by Leyla Ayse
Most of us travel because we love it - and whether we stay in tents, hostels or luxury hotels, the one thing we want to feel is safe once we tuck in for the night. Basic safety rules are just common sense, whatever the accommodation. You wouldn't let a stranger into your home, would you? Nor should you let one into your hotel room. Same rules, different places. These basic safety tips and hotel room precautions should keep you snug at night. I follow them, and I know I sleep more soundly knowing I've taken care of things before bedtime.

WORTH VISITING ~ TAIPEI 101
One of the seven new wonders of the world, Taipei 101 is a 101 floor skyscraper in Taipei, Taiwan. Presently, Taipei 101 is the world's tallest, completed skyscraper - although, the 141 floor Burj Dubai in Dubai is poised to take over the title very soon. If you're in Taipei, make sure you take time to visit this remarkable site and have lunch at Jason's Supermarket or in one of the many venues in the food fair on the B1 Grand Market floor. For approximately US$14 you can enjoy a spectacular view of Taipei from the ninety-first outdoor observatory floor. Open 10am to 10pm.

RESTAURANT REVIEW - SALEM OREGON You're not a Geek if you Like Greek ~ by Nancy Pitman
Call it a wonderful surprise. Suggesting a dinner for our family at the Macedonia Greek Restaurant sent shock waves through my steak and potatoes loving family. Little did they know the delights in store for them. Located downtown Salem Oregon, in the historic Reed Opera house sits a little piece of Greece. Enter through the mock marble columns and archway shrouded in leafy plants, to an oasis reminiscent of warm and friendly Greece. Huge pots filled with more sprouting plants hang from the high ceiling above. Mediterranean windows overlooking small boutique gives a European ambience as you watch pedestrians stroll through a bevy of shops.
Servers dressed in black slacks and white dress shirts welcome you with wide friendly smiles. Given our menu's we felt like total geeks trying to figure out what to order. Plates passed by holding delectable looking creations.
