throw out. Mesh upper backed by GORE-TEX® XCR®

bulk-up. Narrow gauge webbing and synthetic leather
strapping provide support while anchoring speed

Viv's Review:
A great looking multi-purpose low-hiking shoe that is incredibly comfortable through a range of
temperatures. I wore them in temps that ranged from 36 F to 95 F and they kept my feet from
getting either too hot or too cold. On one particularly rainy day (talk about it bucketing down),
my pants were soaked up to my knees while my feet maintained a level of dryness that I have
not experienced in the past given such horrendous weather conditions. In really hot and humid
temperatures the shoes didn't take on the stink factor and even now they still smell like new.
These shoes stood the test of time (8 to 12 hours wear each and everyday for 9 weeks) and
came back looking barely worn. On the website the size only comes in wide, which works really
well for my foot, except the heel is also on the wide side and I have a bit of a narrow heel.
Obviously it hasn't bothered me too much or caused any foot problems as I have not bothered
to add a heel pad, although if I started doing some serious hill work I would need to.
The Ortholite Anatomical Footbed is comfortably padded and wore well. For those of us with
high arches a little more arch support is probably required. I easily added my orthotic
underneath the included footbed and it has worked out great.
Bottom Line:
Other than being a bit sloppy on the heel, these shoes have been a perfect fit. They offer
great comfort; stability on uneven trails and pavements; waterproof yet breathable in a super
lightweight shoe. Only required a few days to wear in and that was just because the tongue
was a little bit stiff to begin with. This is a shoe that works well for travel, hiking and just
kicking around town.
