Where Are We?
Viv and Jill wish all our Canadian friends Happy Canada Day, and
all our American friends Happy 4th July!
We will be spending Canada Day in Seattle, Washington and will be
in Juneau, Alaska for the 4th of July.
WJ is heading off on an Alaska cruise aboard Norwegian Cruise
Lines, Norwegian Star. Our 7 day cruise will be departing from
Seattle, Washington and sailing through the inside passage, up to
Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan and back down to
Victoria, British Columbia before returning to Seattle.
The ship has been chartered by R Family Vacations for this
itinerary. We're looking forward to great entertainment such as:
Rosie O'Donnell, Kathy Griffin, Cyndi Lauper, Sharon Gless (Cagney
& Lacey), Jill Suble, and much more... Stay tuned to see all the pics

Tours
Towanda Women Motorcycle Tours invite women from all over the
world to explore the best countries for motorcycling: Norway,
Australia and New Zealand in the South Pacific. New Zealand has
recently become more known as “Middle Earth” – home to the Lord
of the Rings triology. New Zealand, especially the South Island, is a
premier holiday destination and a paradise for motorcyclists. It’s
spectacular scenery and twisty roads with little traffic, provide the
perfect setting for a riding holiday of a lifetime.
“Our company has introduced a new concept of motorcycling fun
with like-minded women,” says Towanda Women-founder Tina

Pacific and many unique experiences which are off the beaten track.

are here for.” The company pioneered women only motorcycle tours
in the year 2000 – a very brave concept at the time which has

Tina as well as tour guide Clancy together with contact women and
tour guides in USA, Norway, and Australia form Towanda Women
Motorcycle Tours (after the heroine in the book “Fried Green
Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café“). Their philosophy is easy: “We
strongly believe in women supporting women. We promote
motorcycling for women and offer the opportunity to ride in a fun-
loving and stress free environment. We also make sure tour
participants have the holiday of their lifetime in our motorcycle
paradise."
Focus of their tour program is New Zealand where they offer fully
guided, semi-guided or self-drive holidays. “New Zealand is often
perceived as being an expensive destination, mainly because it is a
fair way away. However, living cost in New Zealand is very
reasonable which makes New Zealand a rather cheap destination”,
says Tina.
Towanda Women Motorcycle Tours take pride in showing the best
New Zealand has to offer. Thousands of kilometres of stunning
coastline, wilderness, rain forest, fiords, snow covered mountains
and steaming volcanoes. Participants are in invited to ride through
‘Goddess’ own motorcycle paradise staying in women only guest
houses where ever possible.
Tour participants don’t need to be experienced – just a sense of
adventure is enough. Towanda Women Motorcycle Tours cater for
all levels of experience by providing a choice of motorcycles and
different tour routes suitable for less experienced and experienced

Eight Biker Chicks among Twelve Apostles ~ By Tina Hartung
I knew something big was heading my way when Wendy Raditz from
the Winding Road Riders contacted me and requested a ride through
Australia in two years time. Together with Patt from Melbourne,
Australia and Leslie from Fremont, California we form Towanda
Women who run women motorcycle tours. The tour for Wendy’s
group was tailor made to suit their time frame of 14 days, relatively
small budget and preferred weather – “not too hot”!
156 Emails later, six excited “girlz” from Pennsylvania arrived in
Sydney for their big Downunder Adventure: The Winding Road
Riders ride the Great Ocean Road. Our route would lead from
Sydney (New South Wales) along the stunning coastal route to
Melbourne (provincial capitol city of Victoria) and further onto the
famous Great Ocean Road. From here we would take all the inland
back roads and would ride via the Blue Mountains National park
back to Sydney.
