WJ recently stayed at Amsterdam's charming four-star Hotel Estherea. This family-run, non-smoking, 70-room boutique hotel, established in a renovated building from the 17th century, fronts Amsterdam's oldest canal. Hotel Estherea is perfectly located on a quiet street within walking distance to all the main sights in Amsterdam - Anne Frank House, Red Light District, Dam Square, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Central Station (10-15 minute walk), Begijnhof and Rembrandt Square. The rooms are spacious, pleasantly decorated and provide all the amenities that one would expect from a four-star boutique hotel. Public areas are warm and inviting, with a bar and well-stocked library for guest use. For those of us who can not be without internet access, Wifi is available and a internet terminal is located in the lounge area (for a small fee). You won't need to go thirsty or leave the hotel for a cup of coffee (unless you really want to) as complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks, fruit and cookies are available at all times in the lounge area. The hotel's buffet breakfast is a great start to any day, with a large variety of hot and cold food items and beverages guaranteed to please any palate.
