With a 9-week European adventure
on the horizon I started the
daunting search for new travel
clothes that would stand the
extreme test they were going to be
put through. Factors taken into
consideration during this selection
process included: we would only be
travelling with carry-on luggage; we
would not spend more than a couple
of nights at any given hotel; the
European autumn weather was
going to be unpredictable at best;
temperatures could range from 40 F
to 95 F. With all these factors to
take into account, this was definitely
not going to be the easiest decision
to make.

Sun Protective Zip-Up Blouse, Relaxed Fit, US$82
- This SPF 30 top is a great travel item that can be worn as a
jacket (wear with a wrap-tank, raglan or front seam Tee) or
blouse. Perfect for around the town in the day or wear it in the
evening when something a little classier is required - dress it up
or down very easily. A large zippered pocket (almost invisible) on
the back is perfect for holding a notebook, passport or small
camera. Zippers on the cuffs allow for rolling sleeves up and a
more sporty look. Available in a variety of colors.
Viv's Notes: Took along this jacket in black and very much
enjoyed the versatility of this item. It was perfect for wearing
alone or layering depending on the weather and event. A very
comfortable piece to wear at anytime. Packed up very small
(rolling keeps most wrinkles out) and any wrinkles that did occur
fell out within minutes of wearing. Easy to wash by hand and
drip- dried within hours. This is an item that I won't travel without.

Quick Dry Trouser, US$76
- With SPF 30 and Scotchguard treatment to boot, these pants
are the perfect travel companion for any woman that needs the
versatility of going from the plane to the Captain's table on a
cruise ship. They look great and are extremely comfortable to
wear. Providing deep hand pockets, back stash pocket and a
small outer pocket with velcro-fastening that sits part way down
the right outer thigh- perfect for stowing an iPod, mobile phone
of small camera. Available in a variety of colors.
Viv's Notes: Took along a black and a navy pair of these pants
and could not have made it without them. This is a low-cut pant
and stretchy nylon material, so order them to fit your size. While
my 5'4" was not tall enough for them without hem alterations,
there is plenty of hem to let down if needed for tall women. No
belt loops gave the waist a clean look and feel - nothing to rub
when using a hip/waist belt on a backpack. Love the wash and
wear versatility of these pants and the lower leg flair gives the
illusion of longer and skinnier legs.
