Viv and American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, in Portland, Oregon.
WJ was recently in Portland, Oregon for an International Travel Writers and
Photographers Alliance (www.itwpa.com) conference.
While in Portland WJ stayed at (and highly recommends) the lovely Hotel deLuxe
for your next visit to "The City of Roses". Hotel deLuxe will take you back to a
time gone by - Hollywood's golden era. Hotel deLuxe boasts beautifully appointed
guest rooms, excellent service and is within close proximity to Portland's major
attractions.
Brasada Ranch invited WJ to the Grand Opening Celebration of their Peter
Jacobsen/Jim Hardy designed golf course. A wonderfully scenic and challenging
course that women players of all skill levels will enjoy.
Bend, Oregon has been its usual happening place this summer and kept us busy
with a Diana Krall & Chris Botti performance at the Les Schwab Amphitheatre;
The 4th Annual Bend Brew Fest - 30 breweries showcasing 60 tasty beers;
Munch and Music; hiking, canoeing, floating the Deshutes River and spelunking
at Lava River Cave - with a temperature of 40 degrees F, it's a great place to
cool off on a hot summer day.
WJ will spend the rest of August exploring the Oregon Coast and taking in a play
at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, WJ is delighted that Amy
Greeson of Healing Seekers is joining us on this trip.
Healing Seekers mission is to explore and investigate the different modalities of
medicinal and spiritual healing in both modern medicine and in the diverse
cultural traditions throughout the world.
Amy will be co-hosting a 13 week radio Health and Wellness show on Voice
America - www.voiceamerica.com - with Bethany Staffieri. Bethany is an herbalist
in Northern California and Founder of Concentric Rings - www.concentricrings.org
The first broadcast will air on September 4th, 2007 at 10am EST

TEN SECRETS TO NABBING THAT ELUSIVE FREQUENT FLYER AWARD
TICKET

1. Start your search EARLY! For popular destinations like Hawaii, Alaska,
Europe, or the Orient, hunt for frequent flyer tickets as early as 331+ days in
advance. If you nab a reservation, write down your record locator (reservation
number) and mark the ticketing deadline on your calendar.
2. If you're not having much luck, check for an award on a frequent flyer partner
carrier (i.e. Air France, KLM/NW, Continental, etc. instead of Delta). The goal
is to use your award miles so you pay only for the taxes.
3. Call the "partner desk" of the airlines with which you have your frequent flyer
account. Availability of partner airline award tickets can not be checked online.

DUDE RANCH REVIEWS
