Cabins
Walls and ceilings panelled with African hardwoods, brass fixtures and fittings throughout, a
warm blue carpet, brass portholes covered with tiny French Provence fabric drapes, and a
wooden bedside cabinet make for a warm ambiance and comfortable cabin.
There is ample closet and drawer space (storage drawers are under the bed) to unpack
suitcases for the duration of the cruise. The crew will then store your luggage in another
area of the barge so it is not taking up valuable cabin space.
Beds can be configured as one double or two twins and are adorned with duvets and large
pillows. Reading lamps above the bed provide adequate light for a quick read before drifting
off and dreaming of fabulous scenery and delectable food.
Air-conditioning and heating are a welcome addition to each cabin and the private en-suite
bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. Complimentary L'Occitane toiletries include shampoo,
shower cream and bar soap with shea butter.
Daily cabin service typically occurs when guests are having their continental breakfast, during
which time towels and washcloths were replaced, trash removed, beds made, bathroom
cleaned and bottled water replaced in the cabin. Bed linens are changed mid-way through
the cruise.
Although cabins are fairly compact and do not have much room to spare (every inch of space
is used as efficiently as possible), they are comfortable, functional and provide for a good
night's rest.
